A practical guide to dining in Kennesaw and nearby Acworth, Marietta and Woodstock |

Searching for restaurants near Kennesaw can mean anything from a quick bite off Barrett Parkway to dinner in downtown Acworth or Marietta. Instead of treating every nearby restaurant as interchangeable, it helps to decide whether you want a convenient meal, a walkable downtown or a special-occasion setting.
These dining areas give Kennesaw residents and visitors a few reliable places to explore, with example restaurants to get you started.
Downtown Kennesaw: local flavor without a long drive
Start close to home along Main Street and the surrounding blocks. The historic downtown district makes it easy to combine dinner with a short walk, and you can choose from different types of casual restaurants.
For Southern coastal-inspired plates, 1885 Grill is a local sit-down option. Vesuvio Pizzeria Napoletana offers wood-fired pizza, while Pisano's Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen is a more casual pizza-and-pasta stop.

Barrett Parkway and Town Center: variety and convenience
The Barrett Parkway and Town Center corridor is useful when the group wants plenty of choices, convenient shopping or a restaurant near a major road. It mixes national chains with independent dining options.
Carrabba's Italian Grill offers familiar Italian-American dishes, while Provino's provides a more traditional Italian dinner-house experience. Check traffic and restaurant hours, particularly around weekend shopping peaks.
Acworth: a change of scenery for dinner
A short trip northwest brings you toward Acworth's historic downtown and Lake Acworth area. The district is worth exploring when you want a meal followed by a walk or an afternoon near the water.
Rather than choosing on distance alone, compare current restaurant menus around Main Street and the lakefront, then check parking and any special-event street closures.

Marietta Square offers a larger downtown outing with restaurants around a central park, shops and public events. It can be a good choice for date night or visiting family when you want more than a single restaurant stop.
Look for menus that fit the occasion, then check whether a performance, festival or market is scheduled nearby. Event days can affect traffic and parking.

Always verify current hours, reservations and menus directly with the restaurant. Nearby does not necessarily mean quick during rush hour, so allow extra travel time.

Checking for street closures in Acworth is good advice. We drove over during an event once and had to circle around for parking.
I'm curious about the restaurants near Lake Acworth. We usually eat closer to home, but dinner and a walk by the water sounds good.
Barrett Parkway has plenty of choices, but getting through traffic there on a Saturday can take the fun out of dinner.
Vesuvio is worth a stop if you're in the mood for pizza. I like having a place like that right in downtown Kennesaw.
