Looking for a place to walk indoors, shoot hoops or try a new activity in Kennesaw? The Kennesaw Recreation Center at Adams Park brings several options together under one roof, making it useful for families, adults and visitors who prefer an indoor setting.

Located at 2737 Watts Drive, the 42,000-square-foot facility includes courts, an elevated walking track, fitness rooms and a gymnastics center. The city maintains official Recreation Center information with the latest details.

Indoor courts for basketball, volleyball and pickleball

The center has three full-size basketball courts that can also be configured for volleyball and pickleball. Scheduled open-play periods make it possible to participate without organizing an entire league, although availability varies around classes, programs and events.

Call the front desk before traveling for open gym. Children younger than 15 must have a guardian present for open play.

An indoor walking and running track

The second-floor walking track circles the gym and measures approximately 0.115 mile. Nine laps are roughly one mile, and the track has separate lanes for walkers and runners.

This is a useful option on rainy days or when summer heat makes outdoor walking less appealing. Check access rules and posted schedules before visiting.

Toddler Tuesdays and family activities

Toddler Tuesdays gives young children and caregivers a chance to enjoy age-appropriate play and social time. The city lists the program for children up to age five, with sessions generally scheduled on Tuesdays.

The center also has a game room with activities such as ping pong and air hockey. Program offerings can change, so consult the recreation calendar for the latest availability.

Membership costs and what is included

According to the city's current membership page, annual membership is $20 for Cobb County residents, $30 for nonresidents and $10 for students with valid student identification or a qualifying parent or guardian. Memberships are purchased in person and last one year from activation.

Membership includes access to eligible amenities such as the walking track, open gym time and Toddler Tuesdays. Classes, leagues and rentals may have separate registration or fees.

Classes, leagues and programs for different ages

Kennesaw Parks & Recreation offers youth, teen, adult and senior programs covering fitness, arts, sports and general interests. The city's recreation programs directory points residents toward current offerings and CivicRec registration.

Programs range from yoga and dance to sports instruction and creative arts. Enrollment windows, eligibility and prices vary by activity.

Hours, location and contact information

The Recreation Center is listed as open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., but individual programs and open gym schedules can differ. The front desk number is 678-385-0165.

Before your first visit, confirm membership requirements, court schedules and any holiday changes. The Recreation Center does not have a swimming pool or a full gym of treadmills and barbells, so check the amenities list to be sure it matches your fitness goals.
